Limit Client Power (mW) determines the maximum power level allowed on client devices that associate to the Access Point (AP). When a client device associates to the AP, the AP sends the maximum power level setting to the client. All settings are in mW. Limit client power tells the client to transmit at XmW.
Cisco highly recommends enabling Dynamic Transmit Power Control (DTPC) on the AP by using the Limit Client Power field in the user interface to ensure that the APs and clients use the same transmit power.
If enabled on the AP, DTPC allows the AP to broadcast its transmit power, and clients can automatically configure themselves to that power while associated with that AP. The Cisco IOS command for enabling DTPC is power client. It was first introduced in Cisco IOS version 12.2(4)JA.
Cisco AVVID documentation uses the term Dynamic Transmit Power Control (DTPC) to refer to limiting the power level on associated client devices. So the terms DTPC and Limit Client Power setting can be used interchangeably.
Limiting the Power Level for Associated Client Devices
You can also limit the power level on client devices that associate to the access point. When a client device associates to the access point, the access point sends the maximum power level setting to the client.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to specify a maximum allowed power setting on all client devices that associate to the access point:

Use the no form of the client power command to disable the maximum power level for associated clients.
Note 
Aironet extensions must be enabled to limit the power level on associated client devices. Aironet extensions are enabled by default.
