802.11 Frames: An In-Depth Overview

Community Manager

During the live event, Wi-Fi subject matter expert George Stefanick will cover a number of advanced topics on the 802.11 protocol. George will walk you through the different types of 802.11 frames and their purpose. He will show how a packet turns into a frame; how that frame turns into bits; and, lastly, how the bits get modulated into the air.

You have heard that Wi-Fi is half duplex, right? George will tackle the complex discussion of CSMA-CA. He will break down Layer 1 Carrier Sense and Layer 2 Network Allocation Vector, explaining how both work in concert to make sure of a lower probability that two or more stations will not transmit at the same time. He will also give a status of his all Wi-Fi office with Cisco 3700 802.11ac access points.

You just deployed Cisco 802.11ac access points, and you want to sniff frames? No problem. George will share his real-world experience sniffing 802.11ac frames with Wildpacket OmniPeek directly from Cisco 3700s.

If you design, deploy, or manage a Wi-Fi network, do not miss this session.

Hi George,

This is one of the best presentation I have seen on this topic. You did an excellent job here.

You should get more than +5  from me, but system only allow me to give 5

Coming from you .. I appreciate that my friend ..

I like your photo above :)

I enjoyed the presentation very much. You combined things from different resources in one place.
I would say that George doesn't need our Judge. When it comes to wireless, George is the one that may judge others, not vice versa.

I hope that we meet one day. :)

Great job on the presentation George!  For anyone going to INTEROP New York be sure to attend his session on The Wireless Engineer's Essential Toolkit

This was absolutely one of the best preso's/webinars I have ever attended.  Really nice breakdown of the material.  Would love to see more from you in the future.

Saved this presentation so I can watch it again. Learned so much and has made me want to dive into wireless even more.

Great tips for troubleshooting when the GUI or logs aren't helping at all. I know a few situations where users have said wifi was slow but everything looked good.

Everyone getting into wireless should watch this first.

Great work!

ive just downloaded this presentation and stored it along with the rest of George Stefanik guru files for my reference.

ITs time for a book George, Capture it ALL in one hard copy!!

Thank you
