802.11w and BYOD environment

Hello together

I wonder if I should enable 802.11w as optional on my BYOD SSIDs. Clients are mostly modern mobile phones and laptops, around 70% already supporting 802.11ac.

Currently I use WPA2 with 802.1x (WPA2-Enterprise with PEAP and Windows Radius) and I've also enabled CCKM for supported clients. I discovered that I will loose CCKM if I enable 802.11w on the SSID (set PMF to Optional or Required).

Clients use the Wi-Fi for virtually everything, but it's not specially voice enabled (they still can use Skype and similar programs though).

APs are 2700, 3700 and 2800 models.

Based on this information, is it recommended to enable PMF on Optional today, or are there still various driver issues that you know of?

Thanks

Patrick
