Allow only few MAC addresses to connect to SSID on WLC using MAC Filtering

Hello everyone,

I have a problem I need to solve with my WLC MAc filtering. I found ton of topics on how to block mac addresses on certain SSID on WLC however I didn't find even one that properly explains how to allow only few mac addresses to connect to SSID and block all others. I would appreciate any response.

WLC is #Cisco 5500 , have few SSIDs on it, all routed to different vlans, some using flex connect some global management.

Thank you.

Hi,

how to allow only few mac addresses to connect to SSID and block all others.

First add the MAC address list (only these client will be allowed to use wlan) in WLC then configure the WLAN to use MAC filtering.

here is the guide:

@Sandeep Choudhary

Thank you for your reply, however how do I make MAC filter to ALLOW the list that I add -

So using this command I can add MAC

"

config macfilter add 00:E0:77:31:A3:55 1 lab02 "labconnect" 10.92.125.51"

"

and turn on MAC filter for SSID - is that it or I'm missing something?

Sincerely,

its correct. Make sure to use this format:

config macfilter add MAC_address wlan_id [interface_name] [description] [IP address]

Regards
