Cisco 1852i Unable to Boot

mumbles202
Level 5
Level 5

I had 2 1852i APs running mobility express that was running 8.4.100 code for a couple of years with no issue.  A few days ago one of the APs stopped checking in and I noticed it doesn't seem to be booting all the way.  if i get into the console i see it hangs and has the following errors:

I've tried loading a new image via tftp and while it does reach out to the tftp server it eventually hangs and never transfers the file.  I've also tried getting an image download to it using TeraTerm and Kermit but after 8 hours it was only at 29%.  is there anyway to copy the image from USB while it's in Rommon? Or convert it back to LW and then upgrade it and then convert it back to ME?

Get into u-boot and post the complete output to the command "pri".

I'll grab this in the morning and post. U-boot being the prompt when I hit esc during boot up correct?

Correct.

pri by itself errored out:

(RNAQ-C7) # pri
Unknown command 'pri' - try 'help'

but here is the output from the 3 commands that start with pri:

Do this:
setenv BOOT part2
saveenv
And reboot the AP.

Thanks.  When i did this it still rebooting and booted off part 1.  When I tried using "setshevnt BOOT part2" it seemed to save and boot off of part2, but it still hung but at a different stage.  I waited about 15 minutes before seeing it crash again.

Post the entire bootup process.

Here's the log.  Booted up, hung after the last message for a few minutes and then cycled.  At the moment just have a power injector connected to it w/ no dhcp available, but I didn't see any failure messages for dhcp.

Contact Cisco TAC and organize for an RMA.

Is there any user resolution to this or is TAC the only answer?  I have an 1832 now doing the same thing.

Same responses above -- Post the complete output to the command "pri".

And then COLD reboot the AP (pull out the supply of power).

Thanks for replying. Tried that with the same results.  Time to look at a replacement?
