Cisco ISE upgrade form 1.3 to 2.x

Hello,

I've never upgraded ISE before.  We are on 1.3 and we are soon to be installing a 2nd one as a cluster.

Is it better we get the cluster working on 1.3 first, then upgrade one of them first so we still have 1.3 running to serve users?

As we have 1 I've read the upgrade can take hours and then would be downtime for our WiFi user.

Thanks

Hi @Gonzo1

I'd recommend you test the newer one in 2.0 first. As soon as you are comfortable with that and able to make you environment work with 2.0 you can upgrade the older one and then put them in cluster mode when both had 2.0 version.

This way there will be no down time for users.

ISE really takes a lot of time to upgrade and it is upgraded separately, first secondary then primary.
