Compatibility WS-C2960X-24PD-L vs AIR-AP2802E-S-K9

LAN team

Level 1

Hello,

I've connected 22 new model  of AP on 3 differents switches and I encounter each time the same issue :

After a short while all AP move from status :

Gi1/0/1 auto on 26.1 AIR-AP2802E-S-K9 4 30.0

to

Gi1/0/1 auto on 26.1 Ieee PD 4 30.0

And then never reach WLC.

switch model : WS-C2960X-24PD-L - 152-4.E7

AP model : AIR-AP2802E-S-K9

Is there any compatibility issue ? I don't find any topic telling that.

Thanks for your support.

Fred.

I've found the solution.

Just before AP crash, I've to connect on each AP remotely by default credential (I'm not on local site) and set  parameters : ap-type capwap.

Never seen that before.....

Thanks all for your help.

Pls post "sh run inter x/x" and "show cdp nei x/x detail" where x/x is one of your switch interface that connect to an AP.

Hi

It seems to me some communication problem between AP and switch. Firstly switch is able  to identify the AP and then fail to do so.

Make sure CDP and LLDP is enable and try to run "debug ilpower event".

Ieee PD means the switch is not identifying the AP as an AP and then probably not providing proper power.

-If I helped you somehow, please, rate it as useful.-

Thank you for your answer :

Switch seems to provide enough power :

HTY-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx#sh power inline

Post the complete port configuration.

Here's the "sh run all"  interface config, anyway switches are brand new and config is very basic, just a data VLAn in access mode.

I've also seen this log just before AP came back in IEEPD status :

Looks like the AP is crashing.
What firmware is the controller running on?

One more thing, there was a PoE bug with your switch. You are already running a fixed IOS, but the upgrade required a full power cycle, see CSCvf42171.
