Limit bandwidth for WLAN

Hi,

We have WLC in version 7.4.121 and 1131 AP in flexconnect.

We want to apply Qos and i use "Override Per-SSID Bandwidth Contracts", Downstream and UpStream, but this had no effect.

The WLAN is open without Layer 2 Security.

Have you an idea ?

Thank.

For Per-SSID Bandwidth Contracts or per-user Bandwidth Contracts you need AVC on WLC which is included in WLC version >=8.0

Also make sure that you are not using 2504 controller.

Below are the steps.

Go the Bronze QoS profile on your  controller and enter in values similar to this: note this would throttle  the average data rate to 250k

Per-User Bandwidth Contracts

- Average Data Rate: 250kbps

- Burst Data Rate: 500kbps

- Average Real-Time Rate: 250kbps

- Burst Real-Time Rate: 500kbps

Hope this helps

Hi Yann,

You can do it on WLC 5500 series and others (2504 don't support this)

this document provides information on how to configure rate limiting globally, per WLAN or per client, and shows how these settings apply to traffic in each configuration and how one setting supercedes the other in different configuration settings. Examples provided in this document demonstrate how traffic gets impacted with different rate limiting settings when chosen globally, per SSID or per client when performing different configuration settings.

To support Per user QoS in FlexConnect you need to be running 7.5 if you are doing local switching
