WCS from Windows to Linux

We are planning on moving our WCS 6.0.170.0 to Linux from it's current Windows 2003 OS to resolve performance and temp file allocation problems. We are planning to stay at the same revision for the move, and then upgrade once Ver7 is stable. Has any one had any issues in restoring their data base cross OS like this? Any other issues? Thanks

There should be no issued restoring from 1 OS to another since the backup is OS independent.  I have done this many times in testing and not seen any issues.  Going to the same version will also be easier since there are no db conversions necessary.

You shouldnt have an issue upgrading from to a different OS and from an earlier version at the sametime.

I recommend you to go to WCS 6.0.181.0 instead of 6.0.170.0.

Make sure to check the release notes for the software supported versions to upgrade from:
