Software version:Cisco IOS Software, C1250 Software (C1250-K9W7-M), Version 12.4(10b)JA1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)
For some reason it will not allow me to set a passphrase to anything less than 15 characters. WPA2 should allow for 8 characters or more. Anyone else have this problem or know the solution?

Did you try like this:(Dont use 7)
dot11 ssid XXXX authentication open authentication key-management wpa version 2
wpa-psk ascii cisco123 wpa-psk ascii 7 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hi,
shortest password allowed with WPA2 is 8 characters long and it must work. You must be doing something in config.
Could you paste the AP config here.
