Problems with WAP 321 and 5 Ghz Mode

Hi @ Support Community,

i bought a Cisco WAP312 Wireless Accesspoint for my Home Office.

The setup of the device was not a problem...but... a few days ago i wanted to switch from 2,4 Ghz mode to the 5 Ghz Mode,

and it won´t work.

The wireless symbol on the device changes from green to orange, and no device is able to connect to the accesspoint.

firmware 1.0.2.3

kind regards,

Chris

Hi Christopher, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community. I apologize for this inconvenience, I advise you to try to perform a factory reset and configure your device manually, also when you change the mode I advise you to use other channels in order to avoid interference and return it to 5,0.

I hope you find this answer useful,

Hi Chris, My name is Eric Moyers.

One other question, does the wireless client you are using support 5 Ghz as well? If it is one that support 2.4 only, you will not be able to see and connect to the WAP321 while it is in 5 Ghz mode.

If it supports both 2.4 and 5 Ghz it may only do one or the other and you will need to make a change in the wireless card in order to use it.

Thanks

Hi support community

I have four WAP321's in cluster. I have had them setup with 802.11 b/g/n radio which has worked with no problems since I've had the devices.

However, it seems that when changing to 5ghz NO device can connect to the AP's. This is true of fully supported 5Ghz devices - I have tested and failed with latest generation MacBook Pro's, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, hi-spec PC's with no avail.

This issue is also true of all the other wireless modes - I can only get devices to connect on 802.11 b/g/n.

Firmware version 1.0.4.4 on all four WAP321's. King Regards,
