We are trying to setup a wireless system at our restaurant to be able to use wireless handheld POS devices and allow guest internet access. The hardware we have is, RV 120W Router, and 2 WAP200 access points. What we were trying to do is setup a VLAN for the POS network and another VLAN for guest access. The problem we are running into is that we have to configure each access point and the router separately. This in turn, is making 3 different networks. We even kept the SSID, Security Settings, Channel the same. So when a handheld device goes from one side of the building to the other it jumps to another AP which is another network, and kicks them out of the system.
I noticed today that the RV 120W will do WDS(Wireless Distribution System). From what I have read this seems like something that would work for us, but not sure how to set it up or if it is even what we want. What we want to happen is to have 2 different networks being broadcasted throughout the entire building. Not a different network on each AP and router. We also need to have the 2 networks to be separated from each other for compliance with credit card data going over the network. Is this something that is possible with the hardware that we currently have? Or is there a better way to accmplish what we are doing?
Thanks for your help in advance!
