1200 Dual Band antenna question

If I use a 1200 with both A and G radios, can't I only hook one antenna up to each radio? If so doesn't this reduce the effectiveness of both radios due to multi-path interference and not being able to use 2 antennas for diversity?

Well, it COULD reduce the effectiveness, if you have multipath interference. It will vary consierably, depending on the environment.

Multipath of a level sufficient to significantly impact performance is not an absolute. That's where a good site survey is especially useful to determine signal quality versus signal strength.

Personally, I like to implement diversity if it's available.

The standard "A" radio / PCcard doesn't really have an option for multiple antennas: It's pretty much "what you get is what you get."

Good Luck

Not sure about the new AP1230, but in the older models the 802.11a upgrade kit/module had a 5GHz antenna attached to the card, which left the two RP-TNC sockets free for diversity 2.4GHz antennas.
