Hi,

I'm ordering two standalone 1260 APs. Will I be able to convert them to capwap at a later date?

Thanks, Pat.

Yes if needed, I will open the rules in the firewall but the goal was to access only capwap and not lwapp anymore. Because we have ordedred a lot of access points in standalone mode, we have to upgrade each one so the most simple for me was to convert AP in CAPWAP mode and not LWAPP mode with association to the WLC to have the CAPWAP mode.

Jonas,

I just checked, the 'latest' rcv image for the 1240 is 12.4.21a  So you'll need to support LWAPP until all of the AP's have joined the WLC and upgrade themselves to CAPWAP code.

Once all the AP are joined, you should be able to block off the LWAPP again.

Console into one of the AP's and look at the output in the log. It will show you what it's using.
