1310 point-to-point bridge in Lightweight mode

how is the 1130 point-to-point bridge work in lighteight mode ?

Is this supported on 5508 and on new 2500 series controllers?

How does the WCS manage the point-to-point link?

I am aware that there is Lightweight software for the 1300 series bridges but never used one so far

well... PtP is only  on autonomous.

what you can do on lightweight is mesh, however I dont think that is what you are looking for maybe...

1310 can't do Mesh mode though.

So your options for the 1310 are aIOS bridge, or maybe you make one lightweight and the other an aIOS WGB.  (I assume the 1310 can be an aIOS WGB, maybe not...?)

If this was something else, you could simulate a point to point bridge by bringing up two APs in bridge (mesh) mode, and then enable "ethernet bridging".

As I mentioned, the possible lightweight solution for what he was looking for is MESH, I didnt mentioned that 1310s supports mesh, 1310s can only work as APs in lightweight code.

"Ethernet Bridging" is a feature within our Mesh Deployments.  "Enterprise Wireless Mesh" (indoor mesh) is the name for using non-mesh APs 1130 and 1240 models (1140, 3500 I think are supported in 7MR1).

Anyhow, the general idea behind Indoor Mesh or Outdoor mesh is still the same....

One device closest to the WLC is the Root AP,  a 2nd device associates as a Mesh AP, and if you enable Ethernet Bridging then all traffic can bridge from the MAPs ethernet interface to the RAPs interface, similar to an aIOS bridge....

But again, 1310 is not a supported model for mesh.
