1552H Won't Join To 2504 WLC.

Hi Folks,

I have a network of 12 APs - 5 x 3702i, 4 x 1532, and 3 x 1552H - all connected to a 2504 WLC.

I've successfully configured the 2504, the 3702s and the 1530s - but I'm having a problem with the 1552H's.

I've tried all three, and the same thing happens with each of them - when they start up only the uplink light goes green - all of the others (RF1,RF2 and status) stay black. I can console into them fine, but they don't appear to be even trying to connect to the WLC. I've already entered their MAC addresses in Security > AAA > MAC Filtering - but as far as I can see they're not even attempting to contact the WLC, let alone join it.

Each of them is powered by a 1500 series power injector, which plugs into the same switch that the WLC is on.

Can anyone suggest any troubleshooting steps please?

Regards, Lee.

Yes k9w7 means your AP are using autonomous image:

First convert form autonomous to CAPWAP. and then try again to Join

Post the complete output to the following commands:

  1. WLC:  sh sysinfo;
  2. WLC:  sh time;
  3. AP:  sh version; and
  4. AP:  sh ip interface brief

Hi There,

Thanks for your response - I've attached the requested output.

Maybe the ap show version provides a clue - judging by the version info: System image file is "flash:/c1520-k9w7-mx.153-3.JC1/c1520-k9w7-xx.153-3.JC1" - am I right in thinking the AP has been sent to me in autonomous mode?
