2702 AP for Survey mode

Hi all. I have a customer currently using Cisco 2702e with omni directional antennas. We are looking to replace some of these with directional antennas and therefore would like to survey.

I have surveyed before using Meraki which is really straight forward whenit comes to putting the AP into survey mode.

Is there a step by step guide on how to put a 2702e into survey mode? Is it done on the cli or the WLC?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
