3850 Switch & Aironet 3700 compatibility

Hi everyone,

I know from the 3850 online datasheet it does not mention 3700 APs among its compatible devices but someone is insisting (based in field experience) that they are actually 100% compatible.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Yes.  It is compatible as long as the AP is directly-connected to the switch.

Hi Raul.

They are compatible with 3850 WLC.

But make sure that  you must have 3.3.1SE or hogher software version on controller to support 3700 series AP.

From here you can download the latest SW:

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284455380&softwareid=282046477&release=3.2.2SE&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest

Here is the compatibility matrix:

I have looked at data sheet for 3850. It does not mention compatible AP's any where. Where can I find this info.

Regards to all.

Sal

Hi,

Yes Its comaptible. but you should have atleast 3.2.0SE software verion on 3850 WLC.

Check this matrix again: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html

which softare version you are runing o WLC ??

is AP directly connected to 3850 WLC ?

paste the output of this from WLC:

sh ver | be SW

show wireless country configured

From AP:

sh verion

Regards
