Hi, I need to clarify if possible config settings for mobility between 9800 AP's and 5508 AP's in same location.
Mobility is operational between 5508 and 9800 - Guest with Web auth is operating well from 9800 to 5508.
Cisco 9800 mobility guide - states in Note -
WLC-2 running IRCM compatible AireOS release and WLC-3 running on Catalyst 9800 wireless controller should not have the same client VLANs configured for seamless L3 roaming to happen.
So does that mean my Voice SSID on the 9800 will be -
SSID = Voice , vlan 130 (working currently on all AP's connected to 9800)
And the 5508 should be -
SSID = Voice , vlan 129
The above configuration fails in any roam scenario , but when the 5508 uses vlan 130 as well , roams occur , but there are drops
Has anyone got voice roams on Cisco 7925 or 8821 phones working bewteen the two WLC platforms ?

Cisco has recently release firmware that support inter-controller roaming between the two distinct platform OSes.

Thankyou - I already have the required WLC firmware 8.5.164 to support ICRM - and mobility is operational between the 5508 and 9800.
My problem is with Cisco handset WiFi voice roaming specifically and AP hand offs bewteen the two enviroments .

update - 9800 -(Cisco 9800 best practices guide)
version 16.12.3 below - requires different vlans on SSID
version 16.12.3 and 17.2 above - support same SSID vlan
AireOS code is 8.5.164
My environment - 16.12.3 and 8.5.164
Layer 3 romaing in this scenario appears to be very poor for voice - beware!!

Hello,
I am facing exactly the same issue, did you ever manage to resolve it?
Thanks!

What firmware are the 8821 running on? Are they on any of the 11.0(5)SR-trains?
