9120E RF ASIC antenna?

Hey Guys,

i was wondering how does the RF ASIC work on 9120E APs. Does it use its own dedicated internal antennas as it does with 9120I, or does it rely on the external antennas connected via DART or via the RP-TNC connectors?

So in case that we would use dual 5Ghz antennas (one via dart and one via rp-tnc) would the RF ASIC be able to provide cleanair also for the 2.4Ghz spectrum ?

BTW - will the 9120E be able to handle higher gain directional antennas (more than 6dBi ?) or do we need to get the 9120P version ?

thanks

Hello @mqontt!!

The RF ASIC is a dedicated radio which is embedded on all C9120/C9130 APs, so it's separated from client serving radios.
You would have all the benefits of Clean Air on both bands but if you are having 5GHz clients only, that's where you'll see the benefit.

For higher gain antennas, you should have the -P version, C9130 AP or Outdoor APs.

Cheers!!
