Active 5508 WLC Convertion to HA (Hot Stanby)

Hi All,

We have two 5508 WLCs in active-active state each with 75AP count license. We intend to convert one of the WLCs to HA -standy.

My question is, would the license be migrated to the Primary WLC making a total of 150 access point license, while the HA WLC inherits 150AP license when the primary WLC fails.

Hello,

1. You need at least 50 licenses on 5508 for HA Standby mode.

2. You can rehost 25 licenses from one to antonter (you need to email licensing@cisco.com). You can not rehost manufactored licenses from 5508 but there is not part number 5508-75 and i suppose, cou can rehonst 25 licenses.

3. Total number of licenses will be 100.
