Adding a new Mesh AP to an existing Mesh network

Hi,

I am just wondering what happens when you add in a new Mesh AP e.g 1500 series AP to an existing working Mesh network.

If the Bridge Group Name of the mesh network is ABC and we add a new Mesh AP in, will it work out of the box?

By default the BGN of a mesh AP is set blank (I think), how can you configure it when the BGN is different?

If the BGN is different, it wont join the WLC through the RAP correct?

Thanks

It will not join.. You would need to have it join the wlc via an Ethernet connection and then set the BGN.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply, so you would have to pre-configure it on the WLC via LAN first and make sure the BGN is the same before deploying it out as a mesh ap?

Thanks
