Aeronet 340 bridges

What type of PCMCIA card work best for this type of wireless bridge.

We use the Cisco 340 and 350 PCMCIA nics but I understand most 802.11b compliant cards work. Are you using the bridge as an access point?

I used a regulat E-Link card and it worked.

Did not like the way D-Link set up is but worked.

The Aironet 340 or 350 PCMCIA cards both work fine, but the 350 would be preferred - it's got better power output, and seems to have better receiver sensitivity.

The Cisco 350s cards do have a power advantage, but any card can be made more effective with an external antenna - the trick is getting one to integrate with the end-user device.

If you are having trouble with distance or multi-pathing at the client down inside the guts of your plants, I would suggest an AIR-LMC352 with two stick-on antennas attached to the back of the monitor (assuming it's a portable).

You may get 4x performance for an extra $200-300.

OR, you can set everything to 1Mbps only and tolerate much more interference.
