AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9 ON WLC-CT5508

HI

We have some isssue related to AIR-AP1252AG-E-K9 we recently bought, and also converted to LAP, but it doesn´t register on the WLC, this WLC already on production with AIR-CAP3502N-A-K9 AP´s.

It seem it´s al about the E (europe) code, but I already tried to add some Europe country code, but finally when confirmed the process it seems all right but not added when check.

Could some helpme to solve this problem, changing the country code to A on the AP or any other way to make the AP´s register on the WLC, the AP´s will be installed on Mexico.

Regards

Jose Macias

You should be able to just add any -E country code in the WLC. You really should obey the rules though because it can get your company in trouble. Mexico should use -N not a -E.

How are you trying to have these APs join, locally or are they in a remote site? That might be the issue you are running into, not really the country code. The 1252's also require more power than the other Cisco APs.

Won't work.  If you purchased an "E" WAP and install the WAP in Mexico (regulatory domain "-A") then the WAP will operate with "-E" frequencies.

I hope you have a good lawyer in Mexico because this is illegal (if you get caught).

You can't change the country code on the AP. if you just got the AP and it's going to be installed in Mexico, I'd send it back to the partner and get a -N AP.
