HEllo

I have a new AP:

AIR-AP1562I-B-K9 in my WLC (8.3.140.0, AIR-CT5520-K9) which is always in operationel Satuts: "Downloading" and i think, once it is done downloading (after few minutes), it is rebooting, and then reapear in my WLC in Downloading, it keeps doing this for weeks... the native Firmware of this AP is a 8.2.166 (show in the WLC).

Any idea?

B.

I have never seen this sort of behaviour on a 2800/3800/1562.  I saw this behavior on a 3700 AP.

You might want to remote into the AP and move the AP to a different controller running a different firmware.

Another option is to upgrade the firmware of the controller to 8.5.120.0 and see if this fixes things.

hello

Tx for this answer, but i have no other WLC in a different IOS, it is all in 8.3.140 or mayby one whchi is 8.2.x...

Maybe Is there a way to upgrade this AP manualy?

Yes, but it's a very, very difficult process and requires TAC assistance.

There is another way:  Force the AP to boot the secondary firmware.  You'll need to break into u-boot to do this.

hello,can you explain how to do it?

Tx

B

Make sure you have a console cable attached.
Reboot the AP.
During the boot-up process, there should be a prompt that goes like "Press Esc to stop auto-boot". Do that. You have less than 3 seconds to do this or you'll need to start all over again.
Once you hit the u-boot prompt, enter the command "pri" and post the entire output.

hello, here is the output...

anything special?

In fact, the AP is not completly rebooting, but it is replaying all over again a specific sequence (it connect to the WLC, then disconnect, and connect again: here it is:

The AP is receiving a response from the controller.

 Can you post the complete output to the following commands:

1.  WLC:  sh sysinfo;

2.  WLC:  sh time;

3.  AP:  sh version

here is the show version of the AP:
