Hello,

our customer in France, it deploy access points AIR-LAP1142K-E-K9 in france but also in morocco.

from Cisco's documentation and Azlan, it is not possible to purchase AP AIR-LAP1142K-E-K9 to the customer in Morocco. but it's possible only the item AIR-LAP1142K-I-K9.

We have an issue: the WLC (version 7-0-220-0) is in france country code (FR) and regulatory domain (-E) and APs are in morocco.

the regulatory domain (-I) is not supported in country (FR ), the interface 802.11a is not supported.

questions:

1/ is it possible to activate 802.11a on AIR-LAP1142K-I-K9 ? how can it be done ?

2/ or we must make an exchange AIR-LAP1142K-I-K9 by AIR-LAP1142K-E-K9 ?

3/ the morocco's customer said that it's possible to purchase AIR-LAP1142K-E-K9. is it true ?

on the website Cisco: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps5861/product_data_sheet0900aecd80537b6a_ps10981_Products_Data_Sheet.html

for morocco: the customer, can it purchase AIR-LAP1142K-E-K9 ? can you verify this information please ?

Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,

Laurent

In the controller GUI go to > wireless > country

Here you'd set all the different countries - also more then once, you'll need to disable your 802.11a and 802.11bg networks for before you hit OK.

The only problem is that I don't see Morocco in the list (on my 7.0 controller) even the AIR-LAP1142K-I-K9 is in the supported list that you've posted.

Laurent: the Moroccan guy can buy -E access point. There should be no problem with the purchase. The only issue is that Moroccan customs may refuse to let the AP to enter the country if it does not abide by the country regulations.

-I access point do not support .11a band? Sure? Well, i can not tell if band A can be activated or not but what you need to do is to make sure if -I APs have band A hardware or not. If any country that uses -I APs Supports band A then band A can be activated.

In wlc gui in wireless -> country, there is a link shows AP regulations and supported countries. Check the doc it will bw handy.
