I need to add 3 access points to my network. However, I have some concerns about compatibility. My equipment is toward the end of its lifecycle and I most likely wont be able to replace it until late next year. My current setup is as follows.
Cisco 4000 Series
Model: Air – WLC 4404 – 100 – K9 V02
Software Version: 4.2.176.0
APs: (20) Cisco Aironet 1100 series; Air-AP-1121G-A-K9
I am trying to determine if adding Cisco 1200 series B/G access point AIR-1242G-A-K9 will work. I have not found anything that says one way or another if it will or not. Anyone that has an answer to this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, in fact 1242 will work on 4.2, 5,6,7 and the latest 7.2 code.
Also, your 1242 is consider the 1240 model. The 1200 is a different model.
BTW, Welcome to CSC!
