ap 1200 and power injectors

Hey all,

have a couple of questions about power injection and the 1200 series AP. Can an AP be powered by a non-cisco power injector. For instance, Axis makes a 12 power Power of Lan Midspan that meets 802.3af standards. Each port of a 12 port Midspan from axis produces 15.4 W minimum. The output power voltage is 48 Volts DC.

3com also makes a PoL midspan. But the volage is only 24 VDC. The reason I am asking is because we have just a few wireless ap's and even fewer ip camera's. If i can find one appliance to inject power that would help on power outlets and just plain confusion.

Thanks for the help

Matt

The 1200 series is capable of getting power over the Ethernet from switches and hubs that provide inline power. If these third party devices provide inline power and they have the correct output current, then they should work fine. Here is a link that shows what the output current is of the 1200 series power injector.
