Hello,

I am trying to convert  AP1832 from CAPWAP version to a Mobility Express. I have the new software in a TFTP server, but when I console to the AP I can´t type  AP#ap-type mobility-express tftp because it seems to be in a romon state.

When it starts up, I have to hit ESC because if not it reeboots:

I have downloaded the software with tftpboot comand:

What is the version of capwap running on 1830?

Hello mohanak,

It does not support sh version command:

(RNAQ-C7) #sh version
## Error: "version" not defined
(RNAQ-C7) # sh
HUSH_VERSION=0.01

In the start up process, I could see this information about version:

User Access Verification
Username: [*08/27/2015 15:57:41.1999] copy part1_info.ver to CAPWAP_VERSION.
[*08/27/2015 15:57:41.2099] part2_info.ver does not exist. CAPWAP_BAK_VERSION is 0.0.0þ

[*08/27/2015 15:57:41.2099] part2_info.ver does not exist. CAPWAP_BAK_V

Hi,

I had similar prolem with customer's new AP1832. Nothing is help to convert from CAPWAP to ME edition.

So you need put part.bin (it archived in ap1g4) to tftp server and type command boot bootipq tftp

Please be shure you in one subnet with AP and your tftp server is 192.168.1.254.

Hello,

Where would I find the part.bin file? You mention it is in th ap1g4 file but that file is a .FILE type.

Thanks,

Riccardo

Hi,

I know that this discussion is old, but I just had the same problem, the part.bin file is obtained by decompressing the .tar image (I used AIR-AP1830-K9-8-3-141-0.tar) that you download from Cisco.com.
