AP 9120 AXI cannot join WLC9800-L-F

i have issue AP 9120  AXE connect and disconnect to WLC 9800

   -  Review the current WLC9800-L-F  configuration with the CLI command : show  tech wireless , have the output analyzed by  https://cway.cisco.com/tools/WirelessAnalyzer/  , please note do not use classical show tech-support (short version) , use the command denoted in green for Wireless Analyzer. Check all advisories and or correct critical ones (if any)

17.3.3.26 = Cisco IOS XE Amsterdam 17.3.3 - plenty of known bugs.

Start off by updating to 17.3.5b as per https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/214749-tac-recommended-ios-xe-builds-for-wirele.html#anc14 then see if you still have the same problem.

Debugs and packet captures on WLC to see why the CAPWAP connection is timing out.

Does it join the WLC when the AP is placed on the same VLAN as WLC WMI or when the WMI IP is manually configured in the AP itself?

Make sure that the WMI interface is defined on the WLC and NTP is synced. Also check if there is any firewalls in the path that it is not dropping any traffic.
