The Ap is pingable from wlc and WLC is pingable from AP.

On console, I am getting teh below logs.

Do you mean DHCP option 43 code?

The WLC and Aps are in same subnet.. so in that case, we need not define option 43 ascii code right.

If the AP’s are on the same subnet as the wlc then there is no need for any discovery method. Did you define the country code on the wlc? What you can do also is factory reset the 91x0 access point by holding the mode button down while powering it up. Hold it for 20 seconds until the led flashes red. See if that helps.

The country code is defined already..

All these are new APs just unboxed it.. So, I am looking for any other solution except factory reset.

The reason I said factory reset, is because I have ran into issues with new aps. They joined initially and then dropped. The fix was to give them a quick reset and joined right away.

I can give a try on making it factory defaults.. But i have rebooted the Ap and bounced the switch ports several times. no luck.

I found issue here

CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.ori.orica.net.<- are you sure the net is your domain usually the domain is end with .com which is root here it think the DNS can not resolve the name-ip of WLC.

connect PC to SW and use lookup to find if PC can resolve the ip of control using DNS server.

yes. . .net is the domain name and  i have verified its configured correctly

Do you check by connect pc and do lookup?

The AP’s are on the same subnet as the controller management, so option 43 doesn’t matter unless you have another controller that these aps are joining in another subnet.

let explain to you why we need to check DNS

there are three discover method

DNS,

DHCP,

and broadcast

you config DNS and not config DHCP and broadcast is by default.

it seem that DNS is failed either

1- AP can not connect to DNS server

2- DNS server have A record for WLC VLAN not AP manager

3-DNS behind FW this FW change the IP address "NAT it"

so we can check this by PC connect to same SW that AP connect to it,

PC will get ip address from dhcp

PC do lookup for DNS, we will see ip is it same as aspect or not
