If that does not happen, items to look into is checking the configuration. If it get's stuck then look into possible software bugs and or try the latest software version available (for example). If the term 'stuck' for instance correlates to a hardware problem , then your suggestion may not be possible either. If it keeps happening with specific or determined AP's then they should be replaced.
