If there are four SSIDs in an AP, would it be 100/4 if the AP had a throughput of 100?

and share bandwidth?

- NO!  8 SSID's is NOT 8x100, one single SSID can reach 100% of the capacity when all others are not transmitting

this capacity depends on the AP-type , and throughput to a destination depends on other components in your network.

obvious example: when you connect your AP to a 100Mbps switchport, you will never get the full possible bandwidth of the AP's wireless 802.3ac? connection.

 

and there are more conditions to take into account. like :

- with 8 SSID's you get more overhead which will reduce the data-throughput

- with many clients in your environment, there is an extra "handshake" overhead  which will reduce data-throughput

- when other AP's are in your neighborhood and working on a same channel, bandwidth will be shared. which will reduce your throughput

 

So a simple yes/no is not the right answer...…

Search up “ssid overhead” this is only one variable in the whole equation. You also need to calculate all the other variables like noise, utilization, attenuation, client count, etc.

but the short answer is NO, not 100/4! the total AP throughput is still near 100. it will be less because of the additional protocol overhead 

each SSID can individually reach near a little under 100 if other SSID's keep their mout shut / are not actively used.

if 4 SSID's have active clients, available bandwith will be divided between them, but NOT in a 1:4 ratio!

You mean that even with a few SSIDs, each SSID can speed up to 800 Mbps, right?
There are eight SSIDs per AP as controller type.

Your question is not a valid question. Your thinking about it all wrong so there is no true answer for the question you asked. It’s not something you can just use simple math on because there are too many variables.
