AP1532E not join WLC2504

Hi Expert,

I have a problem to join AP1523E to WLC2504.

I already configure the WLC and put the MAC filtering list of AP's.

For the Switch, I already configured port for WLC is "switch port mode trunk" and for RAP  switch port as "switchport mode access".

How to know the AP status will join the WLC?

I see the AP light always blinking green colour.

Please help me.

Thanks.

The first thing I typically do is stage the mesh AP's. I would connect the APs to the same subnet as the WLC and let the AP's join and download the image. Then you can place the RAP in whatever subnet you want and the RAPs then can be disconnected from the wired network to validate that the maps join the raps.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for replied.

I just now connected only WLC,RAP and my laptop to switch.(all in same subnet)

But it still not joins yet.

Do I need to setup the AP IP address or just configure the DHCP scope?

Thanks and regards,

Hanif Saharudin

The AP needs to get a dhcp address. If the AP and he WLC is on the same subnet, the the AP would do a later 2 broadcast to discover the AP. You are using the AP Ethernet mac in the filter?

Dear Scott,

I put MAC filter at the Security > AAA > AP Policies.

Thanks.

Try to add a -E country code since your controller has only Malaysia.

Hi Scott,

This -E country code need to add at AP or WLC?

My access point is AP-CAP1532E-C-K9.

Thanks.

If the -C is Malasia then you are good.  Place the AP on the same vlan as the WLC management interface. Make sure there is a dhcp server also so that the ap can get an ip or else it will never join.

Hi Scott,

I already configure at DHCP server, MAC filter, and AP is the same VLAN as per WLC management interface.

Kindly have look at attachment files for the clear view of my problems.

Is it this issue can cause from switch configuration?

Thanks and Regards,
