AP1542I-E-K9 and AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C

Hello,

I just need some confirmation about compatibility between 2 models that support Mobility Express.

Is it possible to manage AP1542I-E-K9 and AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C with Mobility Express on the same network? Is it a problem that I have 2 differents models ?

Thanks for your help

Hello patoberli,

On this documents it seem's AP1542I-E-K9 does not support Mobility express, but from the link below  indicate the opposite:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/1540/installation/guide/1540hig/ch1.html

which of this 2 documents is correct (I suppose the second documents because is written 2 months after the first) ?

Could depend on the used software version. My document was for the 8.5 release train.
I think it's a "typo" in my document, as there is no model named AIR-AP1540I-x-K9. I'm 99% sure they mean the AP1542I with that model name.

I think you are right, check the document:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#pgfId-308874

Finaly ,are you sure that I can mixed AP1542I-E-K9 and AIR-AP1832I-E-K9C on the same network and manage them with mobility express version 8.5 or greater ?

Thanks again

You can only manage Mobility Express compatible access points. The 1540 is supported as long as you have the proper image.
