Hi Experts,

My organisation is going to open a new branch office and my manager want to deploy a wifi solution in such a way that when a person will try to connect with wifi he would be able to get some auto-generated authentication credentials on his/her mobile.

Can anyone help me to achieve this task.

Hi Salman,

About the only thing you can do with your equipment is to setup a "Radius server" and run software on the server to "generate" passwords. Radius validation is usually used with a username and password combination, once validated they are then connected.

This is how "hot spots" work (in some form or another) and it does take either a specialized router that supports "local validation" or a Radius server on your network.

There are some access points out that allow you to use "the cloud" to accomplish user management. PepWave, Open Mesh, etc. These systems have radius setup and you can then address the system from the web and add / remove users and passwords.

See http://www.pepwave.com/products/ap-one/ or http://www.open-mesh.com/ or similar products.

The Pepwave unit has "guest users system" which will auto generate passwords on a daily basis should you setup the controls correctly.

Regards

Your not going to be able to achieve this with Cisco equipment unless you want to spend BIG money. Cisco's ISE with guest self registration is one way of doing this. The other way is to use a 3rd party software both free and paid. Software like wireless hotspot or free wifi hotspot are some things you can search on. Many of the Linux are free that can perform this on a laptop or server depending on hardware required.
