release note for Aironet 1200 series said 6500 CANNOT provide POE for 1200 series. But how about 1142?
I have a new 1142 connected on my 6506-E, but it cannot power on.
On 1142's datesheet, it has a list of compliant devices, 6500 is not in the list.00
Can 6506-E POE Aironet 1142?
p.s. I certainly enabled POE on the port.
Thanks so much.

That is not PoE...

It should:
Powering Options
• 802.3af Ethernet Switch
• Cisco AP1140 Power Injectors (AIR-PWRINJ4=)
• Cisco AP1140 Local Power Supply (AIR-PWR-B=)
What do you see when you run a show power inline

the AP was power off, LED was off, the interfacw showed not connected.

The 6500 alone isn't responsible with PoE. It's the line card. Can you kindly post the output to the command "sh module"?

PoE line cards for the 6500 have the "AF" suffix.
