Can't entering a web browser - AP 3702i

Dear Käse Land
Level 1
Level 1

Hi,

after converting the AP to Autonomous, made the required configuration so I could use it throw a browser (tried also other browsers), but it won't open it?

Bytheway, am using it in my home router switch + Injector

maybe something could be missing?

Many Thanks

Try different approaches :

Can you able SSH or Telnet to device  ?

Are you using https://APIPADDRESS ?

in the config do you see below config - if not add and test it.

ip http secure-server

ip http server

try below video step by step :

Still issue post command level running configuration for us to understand the issue

Yes, all been tested!

but the issue still up!

I'll explain in deep details:

I have

# Home router built-in with a normal switch

# Injector with two ports, one port to AP, one port to SW

# console cable + a laptop

* What has been done

# Cable from the Injector to the AP, Cable from the Injector to the switch, Console from the AP to the laptop

# Using Putty + tftpd64 + ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPK

# Did all the step for converting and It has been converted successfully to Autonomous.

# then I set up an IP address which is as follow:

conf t

int bvi1

ip add 192.168.178.55 255.255.255.0

do wr

do sh ip int br

BVI1 192.168.178.55 YES manual up up
Dot11Radio0 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
Dot11Radio1 unassigned YES NVRAM administratively down down
GigabitEthernet0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up

Search through previous forum posts - I recall seeing a few about the IOS AP web interface not working correctly on the latest IOS (you didn't mention what version you're using - always specify hardware and software details).  I think most people solved that by downgrading to an older release until they found one that worked.

Other things to try - different browsers, different (older & newer) versions of browser, make sure no content blocking on the browser.

Try debugs on the command line and check the logs for any errors on bootup or when you attempt to access the web interface.

Product/Model Number: AIR-CAP3702I-E-K9

ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPJ3.tar

ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPK.tar

I tried in many versions of browsers but still not function

could you give me the specific command for it please?

Looks like ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPK  - this version has some bugs, follow the below thread to see if you can resolve them.

Yeah, I think I have some bugs!

unfortunately, the URL you gave me.. didn't find a satisfied solution!

I tried also this

ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JBB(1).Default

but it won't take it?

only

ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JPJ3.Default

take it ?

Also I used ap3g2-k9w7-mx.153-3.JPJ3

but still the same

what should I do.. should I throw it to the trash... I have four of them!

I would advise you to configure the AP via the CLI and use it. The GUI has always been unstable since I can remember for autonomous AP's. The only stable GUI interface I have come across is for the ME supported AP's.

Did you try 15.3.3 JJ1 like suggested in the link @balaji.bandi provided?

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/285029865/type/284180979/release/15.3.3-JJ1

I have no idea what those ".Default" files are which you're referring to and what you mean by "it won't take".  The IOS is always delivered in a .tar file which you must install using the "archive download-sw" command which unpacks the .tar file to all the correct subdirectories on the flash.

Like @joyaljp said - just use the CLI.  3702i is a really good quality 802.11ac wave 1 AP and you don't need the GUI to configure and use it.  Most of us never use the GUI at all.

it requires me service contract require... is there anyhow to download it?

Ok

If you wanted a lightweight to autonomous conversion guide rather refer to one written by one of the regulars here - Rasika - at https://mrncciew.com/2012/10/20/lightweight-to-autonomous-conversion/

Anyway since you already have an autonomous image on the AP, there really is no need to go through that factory default image loading process - just use archive download-sw to download your IOS to the AP and extract it - no need to rename files.

> it requires me service contract require... is there anyhow to download it?

Maybe the supplier of the AP can help you? Or you could try searching for the image name. Cisco software is licensed which is why you need a service contract.
