Cannot get 802.11b Client to asscociate with AP1200 "g"

I've upgraded an AP1200 to 802.11g. I can use a CB21AG client at 54Mbs OK however I can't get the backward compatibility to work for a 350 client (802.11b). I have one SSID.

I have speeds configured as follows;

speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 basic-6.0 basic-9.0 basic-11.0 basic-12.0 basic-18.0 basic-24.0 basic-36.0 basic-48.0 basic-54.0

The client trouble shooting tool suggests a data rate mis-match.

What little hair I have left is in danger, so any help greatfully rx'd.

Try switching the speeds to default,that should work.

Hi:

IEEE 802.11 section 3.8 defines the BSS Basic Rate Set as that set of rates that >all< stations in the BSS must be capable of using to receive and transmit frames.

An association request frame includes the client station's supported rates. The access point (AP) will deny the request if the client does not support >all< the rates in the basic rate set. See section 7.2.3.4 and 7.3.1.9.

I suggest you redefine in your AP your BSS basic rates to include only the rates supported by 802.11b stations -- 1, 2, 5.5, and 11.
