Cat 3850 MA and AP 3702i is not connecting to Cat 3850 MC

I have two sites

Site A: Cat 3850 as MC with one 3702I AP connected

Site B: Cat 3850 as a MA with three 3702I AP connected

Site A is setup and working well. Site B vlans work fine when connected to a port on the switch. I can not cannot get the MA to connect to the MC nor will the AP's connected to the MA.

I have set the MA with the MC's ip and manually set the ip's on the AP's. Still not connecting. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Walter,

Have you configured mobility peering between MA & MC. Refer below post (you can think of 5760 as 3850MC in your case)

Ok so that worked. Are the wlans from the MC supposed to copy down to the MA? The AP's connected to the MA do not show registered in the controller just the MA.

Are the wlans from the MC supposed to copy down to the MA?

There is a new feature added in 16.2.1 code to do this. Refer below

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/16-2/configuration_guide/b_162_consolidated_3850_cg/b_162_consolidated_3850_cg_chapter_0111111.html

I would suggest manually copy wlan config from MC to MA unless you tested this new feature in your environment.

The AP's connected to the MA do not show registered in the controller just the MA.

"show wireless mobility ap-list" on your 3850MC should show the AP registered in MA as well.
