Cisco 1230 AP flash issue

Hi,

Post upgrade of our controllers to 6.0.199 two our our CiscoAP1231's didnt come back up and if we console into them it seems to be a flash error.

The device will no longer allow access to flash (DIR fails) and can't get the updated image.

I've tried the factory reset but it still has the same error.

Is there anyway to re-format the flash or is this likely to be a hardware failure?

thanks,

matt

I would try this: Setup a TFTP server with IP 10.0.0.2 and download the latest 1230 lightweight image since you are running 7.0.98. Rename the image file to "c1200-k9w7-tar.default" and place it in the TFTP root. Connect the 1230 AP to the TFTP server and hold the reset while powering the AP until the light turns red. This will boot the AP into rom mode and set the IP to 10.0.0.1. It will look for the TFTP server and download the image. The AP will reboot the new lightweight image.
