Hello Team,

Does the Cisco 3802i works with the Cisco 3750 / Cisco 3750X or the Cisco 3750v2 POE? from what i understand the Cisco 3750 will power the access point but not the radios? is this correct

If the AP will not get the required power the radios will not operate, but the AP will join to the controller. Refer the data sheet.

Sathiyanarayanan Ravindran,

Thanks for the response I too experienced something like this where the AP will turned on but the radios would not come up, but i cannot remember to see if the access point would succesfully register to the wlc. Are you 100% of positive of this?

Yes, AP will register to the WLC, but the radios of that AP will show down in the WLC console.

Hello,
The 3802 requires a switch that can supply at least POE+ power. The 3750 is POE only, however the 3750X supports POE +

Hello,

Thank you for your response, so if i am understanding correctly the Cisco 3802 wont work on a cisco 3750 but it will work on a cisco 3750x version is this correct? thanks for your time

3800 will require PoE+ and uPoE.
3750X supports PoE+ so the APs radio will work (as long as the PoE ports provide 30.0w to the AP).

Leo,

Thank you for your response. So to confirm.

Cisco 3750 will not provide enough POE for the 3802

Cisco 3750 v2 will provide enough POE for the 3802 but only at fastethernet 10/100 speeds

Cisco 3750X will provide enough POE for the 3802 at gigabit ethernet speed if available.

will the statement above is correct?
