I have a 5520 controller with 2 approved 10 gig SFPs. Port 1 of the controller connects to a 10gig port on a 6509. Port 2 of 5520 is not connected to anything, but has an SFP in it. The port Te3/5 is set up a trunk and joined to a port channel (channel-group 7 mode on). No matter what I do, the Te3/5 port shows as "not-connected". Why would this be??? One thing I notice when doing a sh port on the controller CLI, it has speed at 10 Mbps. Thats strange, but it recognizes the SFP as 10 gig.

Hi,
Have you tried crossing the fibres on the patch lead?
Thanks
John

Yes I tried that. And I also have a second 5520 connected to a different 10 gig port on the same 6509. Same issue. Cant imagine both fiber cables are bad. I just don't get it. I also swapped out the 10 gig GBIC? on the 6509. But either way ,the switch recognizes the 10 gig module.

On the 5520, from CLI, it shows both of the 10 gig ports as admin enabled. But for whatever reason, under Mbps it just says "10".
