Cisco Air 2700 & 1600 series setup without Controller

Hi All

I purchased second hand the following Cisco AP's

1602I-E-K9

2702I-E-K9

I want to upgrade the AP's at work but i see that you need a controller to configure.

Anyone know of a way to do it without the controller for a tech disadvantage guy?

Thanks

Andrew

2702I-E-K9 , should be convertable to autonomous mode (if not yet operating in that way) according to https://community.cisco.com/t5/wireless/i-need-to-convert-a-cisco-air-cap2702i-e-k9-to-an-autonomous-ap/m-p/2680852#M131678 . image available at https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286256843/type/284180979/release/15.3.3-JPM.  For 1602i check https://community.cisco.com/t5/wireless/convert-a-1602i-from-lightweight-to-autonomous/m-p/2167769#M158008 , with image available at https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284366503/type/284180979/release/15.3.3-JF15

be aware, when converted to autonomous mode, the Web-management interface runs with old security settings
some browsers will not be able to connect because of more strict default security settings
best results with (older) Firefox versions, (but probably still needs tweaking)

Or better still don't use the web interface at all because there are a number of bugs apart from the browser incompatibilities.

Just stick to working on CLI and you get to learn Cisco IOS at the same time.
