Dear All,
i have a question regarding Cisco Aironet design and config :
well i have an existed Csico Aironet 350 based Wireless Link ( point-to-point) connection between Site A( Head Office considered as Root Bridge) and Site B ( Remote branch considered as Non root Bridge) ,
i have multiple remote branches (site C , Site D,...) , i am planning to connect these remote sites to main Building ( Site A) Via Site B , by just adding a New Cisco Aironet Bridge witn Omni directional antenna at site B and installing Cisco Aironet Bridges at the remote bridges with Unidirectional antennas , in other Words in Site B there will be two bridges and this site is used as Relay ( i am not planning to use Site B as repeater in order do not degrade throughput and performance).
well my config question is : let Say the main link( Site A to site B ) is using SSID : cisco and Channel 1 , and taking into consideration that remote branches will be assigned the same ip network subnet as Site A and Site B , is it possible to use the same SSID for the other Links between Site B and remote Branches with channel 6 ? how shall i configure the second new bridge at site B to be able to associate with the bridges at remote branches ? Root ? or Non Root ? can i have more than one active Root bridge in the same SSID ? does this design ( same SSID , with two different channels ) induce interference or affect performance ?
sorry for that long story and thanks in advance for your help
Best Regards,
Ali

You cannot have more then one active Root bridge in the same SSID, the better option is same SSID in two different channels.

Hi,
thanks for your reply,
but the issue is : i am using Cisco WorkGroup Bridges 350 at the remote branches( Site C , Site D,..) and two Cisco Aironet 350 Bridges at the site B wchich used as a relay site.
the problem i am facing is as i have all sites in the same SSID and the Aironet 350 bridge in the main blg(Site A) was configured as Root Bridge , I could NOT get the remote workgroup bridges associated to the SECOND Cisco Aironet 350 Bridge in Site B configured as Non Root w/Clients or Non Root/wo Clients ? SO WHAT SHALL I DO to solve my problem and get all sites connected ?
is it possible to control or to assigne a specific Channel on the Cisco Workgroup Bridges 350?
Thanks for your help
Regards,
Ali.
