Cisco - C9130AXE-E external Antenna connectivity

Hi,

I need clarification on the external antenna connectivity.

I have Cisco access point C9130AXE-E, the smart antenna connector AIR-CAB002-D8-R, and the antenna AIR-ANT2524V4C-R=.

My question is: the antenna connector AIR-CAB002-D8-R= has 8 connectors, whereas the antenna AIR-ANT2524V4C-R= has 4 connectors. Please advise on how to make the connection.

Regards

Jamal

Hello Balaji,

I appreciate your response. I ordered the correct part numbers according to the URL and all the items are delivered.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/9130ax/quick/guide/ap9130ax-getstart.html#37691

The 2 ft Smart Antenna Connector AIR-CAB002-D8-R= has 8 connectors, whereas the antenna AIR-ANT2524V4C-R= has 4 connectors. As per the URL "The C9130AXE models (C9130AXE-x and C9130AXE-EWC-x) support up to eight external antennas. These include four dual-band and four single-band 5 GHz antennas"  Should I choose to use the dual band, I would connect the AIR-CAB002-D8-R connections (A, B, C, and D) to the antenna AIR-ANT2524V4C-R= while leaving the remaining four unconnected. Will it lead to any issues?

Regards
Jamal

the C9130 has a dual-band radio (set of 4) and an extra 5GHz radio (set of 4)
each radio has it's own set of 4 connectors

the second 5GHz radio you can
- use in high-density deployments where you have two 5GHz radio in the same area
you have two overlapping cells using different frequencies
or you can configure a large 5GHz cell PLUS a smaller  5GHz cell using the same accesspoint

of course this only works if you connect both antenna sets
if you leave one set of connectors unused you cannot use the corresponding radio
and you need to disable this in the configuration

for further details you can consult the deployment guide
