Thank you, inderseeps, but Cisco has announce in 22 jan 2020 the end-of-life of Aironet 1552 (see https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/aironet-1550-series/eos-eol-notice-c51-742532.html).
I found iw6300, which certainly is a solution, but too expensive. iw 3702 is 1/3 the price, but not sure if it is ATEX ex.

IW6300 is the AP recommended for C1D2 hazadous location environment. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/industrial-wireless-6300-series/datasheet-c78-742907.html

IW6300 is the best in the class and Wave 2, if not you can consider any Cisco AP hosted inside a ATEX certified enclosure. I highly recommend extronics.

APs for ATEX environment is not something to be taken lightly.
Contact Cisco Sales team and get it down in writing, with Cisco logo and Cisco email reply to boot, as proof. If things go wrong, there is an official email to back you up.

What is the final solution you deployed?
Was zone 1 or zone 2 required? zone 2 can be met by 6300 but for zone 1 need a zone 1 enclosure customized for wireless WAP?
