CISCO WLC 5508 Back-up Port Configuration

Hello All,

We plan to use Port 1 and Port 2 to be connected on two different core switches. Attached images of the configuration of the two interface we created.

How can we know that the back-up port2  will take over if port1 is down. we are not using LAG

This works fine as I have had customers whom wanted the same thing.  To test, you basically unplug port one and wait for the AP's to join the controller again.  With LAG, if one port goes down, there is a very small glitch and you usually will not notice it.  The primary port and backup port, the AP's will have to discover the controller again.  Test it out as its been a long time since I tried to test that design.
