Cisco WLC 5508 Intallation

Hi

I installed WLC 5508 with 7.4.1121.0 IOS version. I am trying to associate AP

AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9, all i can see is that it is stuck in downloading under operational status. I see that it is not getting IP address too. Any suggestion

You caen try statically assign IP & configure WLC mgmt addres for the AP. Then It should register as long as AP has rechability to WLC management IP

Here is how you assign a static IP

LWAP-02#debug capwap console cli

LWAP-02#capwap ap ip address

LWAP-02#capwap ap ip default-gateway

LWAP-02#capwap ap controller ip address

If that does not work, pls paste the AP console output when it is trying to register.

Just to add... Put the ap on the same subnet as the WLC management and make sure there is DHCP. If you don't have DHCP available in that subnet, create one on the WLC for testing.

HI Mohammed,

paste the out put of these commands:

from WLC: sh sysinfo

from AP: sh version

and also paste the bootup process from AP console access.
