Hello everyone
I am using a WLC in my head office and my APs are connected and working alright, I have a remote location connected through MPLS and using separate network.
Now I want to connect a AP on the remote site to WLC that is located at head office.
I wanted to know if all of my wireless device's data will go through WLC or devices will only contact WLC for authentication.
Please feel free to ask if anyone needs any further details.
Thank you

There are two options and you can go either way
1. AP in Local mode (Data & Control traffic has to go through WLC)
2. AP in FlexConnect mode (Control traffic come to WLC, Data Traffic you can locally switch in Branch or Centrally switched to WLC)

So I have configured AP(remote location) in FlexConnect mode and it is working alright, but if for some reason AP(remote location) looses connectivity with Controller(HQ) what is going to happen then?
Does AP(remote location) looses all its SSIDs(SSIDs are on WLC)?
Does AP goes in standalone mode?
Is there any workaround please do tell.

Hi Scott
So I used FlexConnect mode and in FlexConnect I choose Local switching.
But when I tested by breaking connection between WLC and AP, unfortunately my SSIDs were gone.
Please suggest some workaround.

And they didn't reappear after a few minutes?
